Bad Säckingen
In 2013 Umicore AG & Co. KG extended its production of catalysts in South Germany by opening a plant in Bad Säckingen. This has enabled the company to fulfil its customers' requirements, caused by ever more stringent emission legislation, for modern, complex systems for post-treatment of exhaust emissions.
Essen
Todini Deutschland GmbH is located in Essen and belongs to Umicore’s business unit Cobalt & Specialty Materials. It specializes in the sale of metals, salts and oxides of non-ferrous metals with focus on the trading of non-ferrous metals, especially copper, nickel, zinc and cobalt. These are mainly used as raw materials in the manufacturing industry.
Hanau
In Hanau - Umicore's largest site in Germany - is situated Umicore AG & Co. KG with six business units. For most of them this site is the headquarter of their global business. The location also hosts one of Umicore's main research centres, which is particularly active in the field of clean technologies (automotive catalysts and fuel cells).
Around 900 people are employed at Umicore’s site in Hanau in research, production or sales of numerous products containing precious metals, such as automotive catalysts, equipment to manufacture high-purity display glasses, precious metal chemistry, silver containing brazing alloys and contact materials as well as precious metal bars.
Umicore furthermore operates a dismantling facility for the recycling of spent batteries from hybrid and electric vehicles.
Pforzheim
Allgemeine Gold- und Silberscheideanstalt AG (Agosi) was founded as a joint stock company in 1891 by jewellery and watch manufacturers in the German city of Pforzheim. Since then, the company has extended its activities from merely refining precious metals to producing semi-finished products.
Schwäbisch Gmünd
Umicore Electroplating GmbH is one of the world’s leading providers of precious metal electrolytes and compounds and of selected plating techniques. Additionally, we produce precious metal-coated dimensionally stable anodes for electroplating or for water treatment.
