Is it possible to do an internship abroad?

Yes, but this option is only coordinated through our headquarters in Brussels. For more information on this option, please visit this website.

Do you offer trainee programs?

No, this option is unfortunately not available in Germany.

What are the working hours regulations for students during an internship?

The weekly working hours are laid down in the collective agreement of the Mining, Chemical and Energy Industries Union and is 37.5 hours per week.

In which university exhibitions does Umicore participate?

We participate in various events and exhibitions throughout the year. Please search our calendar of events – we may have an opportunity to meet in person in the near future.

Can I apply for a position even if I can't start on the indicated date?

Yes. Just let us know when you could start, so that we can see if your desired date matches our needs.

Will my application be forwarded to other business units or locations?

No, this is not done automatically. We will only review your application for the location for which you have applied. However, the HR department in Hanau will also review for which business unit your application might be of interest.
