What You Will Be Doing

 

The Global Quality Manager is responsible for the strategic definition, global implementation, and harmonization of operations quality processes across the Business Units Precious Metals Chemistry (PMC) and Fuel Cell & Stationary Catalysts (FCS). In this role you drive operational excellence by enhancing quality assurance and production processes, enabling cross-site production flexibility, ensuring consistent quality standards, and driving continuous process improvement initiatives. In detail this includes:

  • Develop and implement standardized, end-to-end quality processes across all PMC & FCS sites, leveraging digital systems and automation to optimize workflows.
  • Lead global and local cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing efficiency, agility, and quality performance. Ensure timely execution and realization of project goals.
  • Facilitate high-level collaboration with senior management to ensure seamless integration of quality processes across departments and functions.
  • Provide operational support to global production sites during critical quality events, including major customer complaints, internal failures, and production disruptions.
  • Lead and inspire the Hanau-based quality assurance team, developing a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct internal and process audits in line with VDA 6.3 standards to identify improvement opportunities and ensure compliance.
  • Define, monitor, and report on key quality performance indicators to drive transparency and data-driven decision-making.

 

 

Who We Are Looking For

 

  • Master’s degree in Industrial or Chemical Engineering
  • Profound experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment (preferably chemical industry), including roles such as QA Manager or Production Manager
  • Proficient in advanced quality methodologies and standards (e.g., FMEA, PPAP, Six Sigma, A3, 8D)
  • Certified internal auditor for IATF/ISO TS 16949 and VDA 6.3 Process Auditor
  • Deep understanding of OEM-specific requirements in the automotive sector (e.g., VDA, AIAG, Formula Q)
  • Proven track record in leading complex, cross-functional project
  • Solid business acumen with the ability to align technical decisions with economic impact      
  • Cultural sensitivity and ease in working with international teams
  • Strong people leadership skills with proven track record on change management
