The first step for your career
You can do a bachelor, master or doctoral thesis at Umicore, in close coordination with colleges and universities.
Throughout your thesis, you will have a personal advisor who will be available to answer questions, establish helpful contacts, and provide regular feedback. You can develop your own ideas under the best possible working and research circumstances and advance innovative projects together with us.
We pay an appropriate allowance for all final papers. Students relocating to one of our locations for the duration of their thesis are eligible for a rent subsidy.
A wide range of opportunities for committed junior professionals
You can choose to do one of the following: preparatory internship (before starting a course of study), internship (bachelor/master), compulsory internship (up to 6 months max., depending on academic regulations) or a voluntary internship during studies (up to 3 months max.).
Throughout your internship period, you will have a personal advisor who will be available to answer questions, establish helpful contacts, and provide regular feedback. In some cases, a student employee position may be available afterwards.
All interns are paid an appropriate allowance. Students relocating to one of our locations for the duration of their thesis are eligible for a rent subsidy.
Gain valuable practical experience
At Umicore, student employees perform a wide variety of tasks in offices, laboratories, research and development as well as production areas and thus have the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience.
You need to be enrolled with a college or university for the entire duration of your employment and not yet have completed your final exams. In addition to a duration of at least two months up to a maximum of one year, you will be hired either part-time during your lecture time (max. 20 hrs.) or full-time during your semester breaks. A mix of full and part time employment is also possible.
The remuneration of student employees is governed by the collective agreement and remunerated accordingly.
