How do I know if my application has been received?

After successful application via our online application portal, you will receive a confirmation of receipt by e-mail.

Can I also send the application in writing by mail or by e-mail?

We regret that we are unable to process e-mail or paper applications due to data protection requirements. Please go to our job portal. You can upload the documents there. 

Can I apply for more than one job at the same time?

This is possible. Please apply individually for the open positions with the relevant documents via our job portal.

Can I also submit a speculative application?

Please apply only for those positions that you can currently find in our job portal

Will my application be forwarded to other business units or locations?

No, this is not done automatically. We will only review your application for the location for which you have applied. However, the HR department in Hanau will also review for which business unit your application might be of interest.

What do I need to take into consideration in the application process?

Which application documents do I need to submit?

Please send us the following documents:

  • Cover letter
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Employer, training, internship references
  • School-/University-leaving certificate

Who can I contact with technical questions or problems related to my application?

When will I receive feedback on my application?

After carefully reviewing your documents and forwarding them to the relevant department, we will get back to you as soon as possible. In order to be able to guarantee a careful and fair assessment of all applications, processing and response times may vary. However, you will receive feedback in any case.

Can I withdraw my application?

You can withdraw your application at any time in our online application system. To do this, first log into your candidate profile (umicore.com/careers -> click on the My Account button) with your access data. Then select the position(s) you have applied for under Job applications and click on "Withdraw application".

Will my travel expenses be reimbursed if I have to travel to an interview or selection process?

You will receive information on travel reimbursement with the invitation to an interview. Please submit the completed travel reimbursement form and all receipts to your contact person in the invitation e-mail after the interview.

I have not received an acknowledgement of receipt of application. Have you received my application?

As soon as you have successfully submitted your application, you will receive an automatic confirmation of receipt from us to the email address you have provided. Sometimes this can take a few minutes.

Please also check the spam and advertising folders of your email inbox.

How can I check the status of my application?

You can check the current status of your application via your profile. To do this, you must log in to our online application system with your access data. Via the "Job applications" tile, you can see an overview of your previous applications and also view the current status.

In addition, our application system always informs you by email about status updates of your application.

Can I set an alert when new posts are published?

You have the option to activate regular job notifications in your applicant profile by creating a job alert.
