Umicore is setting an example for vaccination
The December 18, 2021, issue of the Hanauer Anzeiger featured a full-page advertisement as well as an editorial article about this regional campaign.
Together with other businesses, retailers, tradespeople, and restaurants in Hanau, Umicore is taking a stand in support of vaccination
The vaccination and recovery rate among the approximately 1,000 Umicore employees in Hanau is just over 90 percent. Even before the official start of vaccinations by the occupational health service at the IPW in June 2020, the occupational safety team did everything possible to secure the highest possible allocation of the limited vaccine supply to protect all Umicore employees. Once the vaccines were allocated, a vaccination order was established within a very short time, the option for online appointment scheduling was shared internally, and vaccinations began immediately. Initially, the order was assigned in descending order by age. Once sufficient vaccine was available, online appointment booking was opened up to all employees and their adult dependents (members of the same household). This allowed Umicore to ensure that the vaccines were administered immediately and that none were wasted. As part of the regular COVID-19 updates on the Group’s intranet, active education and information regarding vaccination were also provided.
