Start of the 2022 Apprenticeship Program: Umicore Welcomes 16 New Apprentices at Its Hanau Site

September 1 is a special day every year for the circular materials technology company Umicore. On this day, all new apprentices are welcomed at the Hanau site.

A total of 16 trainees began their professional careers on September 1, 2022. At Umicore in Hanau, five additional chemical laboratory technicians, six chemical technicians, three industrial clerks, and two IT students are now being trained in their respective fields.

“We are very pleased to once again welcome 16 new trainees to our teams,” says Sandra Müller, Training Coordinator at Umicore. “The start of our new colleagues’ training is exciting for us every year, and we are delighted that interest in high-quality training in careers in the scientific, logistics, and business fields remains as strong as ever.”

A week before the official start, all new Umicore trainees received a welcome package containing informational materials, writing supplies, and other goodies. On September 1, 2022, the training program began with a personal welcome, an opportunity to meet the trainers, and a photo session.

The application period for the 2023 apprenticeship intake is already underway

Umicore currently has 22 openings for the apprenticeship program starting September 1, 2023. Two new positions have been added for industrial mechanics, along with two additional spots for an IT degree program integrated with the apprenticeship. Interested candidates can apply online at any time for an apprenticeship with the circular materials technology company.
