City of Hanau Sustainability Award 2022

Register now for the City of Hanau’s 2022 Sustainability Award

Once again this year, the City of Hanau is presenting its Sustainability Award to recognize initiatives, creative ideas, and projects that make a valuable contribution to improving the world in a sustainable way. Anyone with sustainable ideas can enter and win, provided they submit their application by the deadline of May 31, 2022. Submitted projects must be relevant to Hanau and the surrounding region. Individuals, associations, schools, and companies are eligible to apply.  Prizes totaling 9,000 euros await the most creative minds.

The Sustainability Award is presented in four categories. The materials technology and recycling group Umicore is once again sponsoring the Jury Prize with 6,000 euros in prize money. Associations, companies, schools, and other committed individuals who have not yet been able to implement a great sustainable idea due to a lack of funding are eligible to apply for the Jury Prize. A jury will evaluate the three best projects, which will then be awarded the prize money. Umicore’s sponsorship of the prize money contributes to the realization of these projects in the region.

The Audience Award, for which Sparkasse Hanau is donating prize money of 1,000 euros, focuses on sustainable projects that have already been successfully implemented. Voting for the three best projects takes place online.
Sustainability can be expressed in various artistic formats. The presentation of an artistic idea can also take many forms.
The Media/Creative Award calls on all creative individuals who have reflected on the topic of sustainability. The Media/Creative Award, worth 1,000 euros, is sponsored by the City of Hanau. Online voting will also take place here.
A new addition is the Garden Award, which recognizes a colorful and species-rich garden or balcony that has been lovingly and sustainably designed. Anyone with a green thumb who would like to showcase their own nature-oriented garden or balcony has the chance to participate in the Garden Award this year.
