Virtual tour offers a guided tour of all business areas
Starting now, teenagers and young adults can apply for an apprenticeship or a dual degree program at Umicore, a materials technology and recycling company. At its Hanau location, Umicore is filling a total of 17 apprenticeship and degree program positions in the fields of science, logistics, and business. The programs begin on September 1, 2022.
A Start into a Sustainable Future
Whether as a chemical laboratory technician, chemical technician, industrial clerk, or warehouse logistics specialist—Umicore offers a wide range of opportunities to launch your career. Those who wish to combine an apprenticeship with a degree program can apply for the Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science (B.Sc.) program at the company.
Applications are submitted online via the career page (www.umicore.de/karriere), where all open apprenticeship positions are listed and you can upload your complete application materials (cover letter, resume, your last two school transcripts, internship certificates, other certificates, etc.). The application process has been adapted to current conditions and takes place largely online. It’s best to apply as early as possible, because the competition is fierce and the first recruitment tests are already taking place in June.

Anyone who has always wanted to know exactly what Umicore does at its Hanau site can discover it on a virtual tour. With this virtual tour, the company offers a glimpse into the five business divisions where research into sustainable technologies is conducted and the corresponding products are manufactured. Visitors can, among other things, take an online look inside the Automotive Catalysts test center, where the latest catalytic converter and exhaust gas purification systems are put through their paces, or explore the interior of a research laboratory. In addition to numerous insights, visitors also gain valuable information about future career opportunities at Umicore.
“An important element in securing skilled workers is an apprenticeship, where teenagers and young adults can develop their full potential and make a difference,” says Dr. Bernhard Fuchs, Member of the Executive Board of Umicore AG & Co. KG in Hanau. “We are pleased that, through our apprenticeship programs, we can help many new colleagues get a start in their professional careers with us.”
