17 young professionals start their training or dual studies at Umicore
On September 1, 2023, the big day arrived: 15 apprentices and two dual students celebrated their first day at work at the circular materials technology group Umicore in the Wolfgang Industrial Park. In addition to future chemical laboratory assistants, chemical technicians, industrial clerks, and a warehouse logistics specialist, two students also began their dual studies in IT at Umicore.
One day before the official start of apprenticeship, Umicore invited the new colleagues to Hanau for a starter day. In addition to team building and getting to know each other, this allowed all organizational matters to be taken care of in advance.
“Curiosity, excitement, anticipation, and many other emotions were in the air last Thursday at our first starter day. We have an exciting journey ahead of us, and I am looking forward to accompanying our new colleagues on this journey,” says Sandra Müller, apprentices coordinator at Umicore.

Before the official start on September 1, 2023, all apprentices received a welcome box sent to their homes in advance, containing many useful items for their start in professional life. In addition to pencil cases, pens, and a notebook, the box also contained a snack, a sweatshirt, a polo shirt, and a gym bag to ensure that the apprentices were well equipped for their start at Umicore.
