In line with its sustainable business model, the circular materials technology group Umicore is supporting the art exhibition “Verspielt? - Roulette mit der Insekten- und Pflanzenwelt” (Playful? - Roulette with the insect and plant world) at the Palmengarten Frankfurt. The exhibition opened yesterday evening at a vernissage attended by around 400 guests and is open to visitors from today until October 6, 2024.

“As a circular materials technology company with a strong focus on sustainability, we are happy to support projects that contribute to the conservation of natural resources and raise awareness of environmental protection,” said Dr. Bernhard Fuchs, CEO of Umicore AG & Co. KG, at the exhibition opening. “Every step we take together toward a circular economy and resource-efficient processes is a step toward a livable world for future generations.”

The exhibition, which was created in close collaboration with Dr. Nadja Tomoum, idea generator, curator, and co-fundraiser, and the Palmengarten Frankfurt, artistically highlights a pressing issue of our time: the alarming decline of insect and plant species.

Visitors to the exhibition are immersed in a world where art, nature, and the circular economy come together in a unique way. Inspired by the beauty of the insect and plant world, more than 30 artists have created fascinating works that highlight the importance of valuable resources in today's world and encourage reflection through the symbolic use of recyclable metals in various exhibits.

The exhibition encompasses a variety of different art media such as sculptures, video animations, sound art, photography, and painting, which visitors can view along a large art route in the garden grounds and several greenhouses of the Palmengarten. A diverse cultural program with lectures, events, and educational programs for children, teenagers, and adults accompanies the exhibition.

Interested parties are invited to visit the exhibition and be inspired and encouraged to reflect by the creative displays. Further information on opening hours and events related to the exhibition can be found at www.Palmengarten.de.
