As head of the IT applications team, I am the global contact for all applications used in the Automotive Catalyst test centers for commissioning, evaluating and monitoring the measurements carried out there. I am also globally responsible for user administration, technical support for the connection and integration of new systems, as well as ensuring the availability of the systems required for this.
What do you like about your job?
The cooperation with international colleagues is what I enjoy the most. Through my work, I am in contact with all Umicore sites almost on a daily basis. It is an additional challenge to deal with different cultures, which diversifies my daily work.
What do you like about working at Umicore?
I like that Umicore gives me the opportunity to adapt my work to specific living situations. I work as a part-time manager and I am able to schedule my workday very flexible. There are not many companies that make such a way of working possible for young mothers.
Why did you want to work at Umicore?
Back then, after my studies, Umicore offered me an exciting field of work with interesting technical tasks. I also saw the company as a future-oriented and attractive employer due to its focus on sustainability and environmental awareness. Today, as a mother of two children, I would also choose Umicore because of the company's focus on issues such as the compatibility of work and family and work-life-balance.
What do you look forward to when you set off to work in the morning?
I look forward to working with my colleagues. International projects with colleagues from all over the world make working together interesting and exciting.
Any advice for newcomers?
As a newcomer at Umicore, you should be open and curious, question many things and never shy away from contributing your own ideas and suggestions. My experience so far has been that creative "out of the box" thinking is always welcome and respected.
