Umicore welcomes 17 new apprentices
September 1 marked the start of the new 2021 apprenticeship year at Umicore, a materials technology and recycling company. A total of 17 apprentices will complete their apprenticeships at the Hanau site over the coming years and gain their first professional experience. To secure a qualified workforce, Umicore is training six chemical laboratory technicians, six chemical technicians, three industrial clerks, and two warehouse logistics specialists at the Hanau site this year.
“For many years, we at Umicore have been successfully training people in the various fields of the chemical industry. We are particularly pleased that, despite the pandemic, we were even able to create one more apprenticeship position compared to last year,” explains Sandra Müller, training coordinator at the Hanau site. “I am delighted that we were even able to welcome our new colleagues in person today. Developing talent and training young people is very important to us in Hanau—just as it is at all other Umicore sites worldwide. Our apprenticeship programs are exciting and offer diverse career opportunities for the future, paving the way toward a sustainable future.”
Dr. Bernhard Fuchs, Member of the Executive Board of Umicore AG & Co. KG, Sandra Müller, Training Coordinator at Umicore, Ralf Müller, Works Council Chair, and Ridwaan Adde, Member of the Youth and Trainee Representative Committee, personally welcomed the apprentices.
