Sunshine, full energy, and plenty of team spirit: On Friday, 70 Umicore employees took part in the 24th Hanau City Run. Together, they ran six kilometers through Hanau’s city center – side by side with around 3,500 participants – sending a powerful message against violence towards women.

This year’s charity event set a new participation record, reflecting the growing social commitment in the region. As in previous years, all proceeds from the run will benefit the women’s shelters in Hanau and Wächtersbach. By joining the event, the Umicore team helped support this important cause. Their participation showed how athletic dedication, team spirit, and social responsibility can come together in an inspiring way.

The team also impressed with strong athletic performances: the fastest Umicore runner crossed the finish line in 22:59 minutes, while the fastest female runner completed the course in a best time of 29:58 minutes. But above all, it was the team spirit that stood out. All Umicore participants successfully completed the run and celebrated together afterwards in Hanau.

With its participation, Umicore sends a strong signal of solidarity and regional engagement – combining athletic effort with social responsibility.
