  • Umicore precious metal bars can be purchased from banks and select trading partners
  • Interested parties can visit the company at the Precious Metals Fair on November 9 and 10

To give customers the opportunity to learn about Umicore precious metal bars firsthand, the materials technology and recycling group will once again be present at the International Precious Metals and Raw Materials Fair in Munich this year. The focus of the booth will be on sustainability and distribution channels.

"Our customers are very interested in where their precious metals come from—both in terms of production and the supply chain. That is why, when manufacturing our precious metal bars, we rely on sustainable and resource-efficient extraction from recycling, and for the distribution of our bars, we rely on banks, savings banks, and selected trading partners. “Customers thus acquire high-quality gold from reliable sources,” explains Dr. Bernhard Fuchs, CEO of Umicore AG & Co. KG and Head of Precious Metals Trading.

Gold from sustainable cycles

For more than 170 years, Umicore has been producing and selling not only gold but also many other precious metals. These are recovered from sources such as electronic waste at the company’s own recycling facility in Hoboken, Belgium, and returned to the cycle in an environmentally friendly manner. In this way, the company ensures sustainable environmental practices in the production of precious metal bars. This is because, through its recycling process, Umicore requires only four tons of old cell phones to produce a 1 kg gold bar—achieving the same product quality—instead of 200 tons of natural ore.

Secure Purchases from Reliable Trading Partners

When it comes to distribution channels, Umicore traditionally relies on trusted institutions such as banks, savings banks, and selected trading partners where customers can purchase the company’s gold, silver, platinum, and palladium bars. The extensive network of sales outlets in Germany ensures customers high availability combined with a high level of security when purchasing precious metals.
