Umicore employees donate €2,000 to the Hanau outpatient hospice service for children and young people
Support for families in challenging life situations
Sometimes it's the smallest amounts that make a big difference. For over a decade, Umicore employees at the Hanau site have taken this saying to heart and voluntarily donate the decimal amounts from their pay slips to a charitable cause every month. Traditionally, Umicore tops up the contributions collected over twelve months. For 2025, this amounted to a total of €2,000, which will go to the Hanau Outpatient Children's and Youth Hospice Service.
The facility supports families with children and young people who have life-shortening illnesses. Trained volunteers assist the affected families in their everyday lives and are there for them in particularly stressful situations. As the service's work is mainly financed by donations, every contribution is all the more important.
“It is very important to us to support organizations in our region that help children and their families through difficult times,” said Erik Steinbrecher, Site People & Organization Manager at Umicore, at the handover. “This donation shows how effective many small contributions can be.”
The Hanau Outpatient Children's and Youth Hospice Service is delighted to receive this support. The donation will go directly toward supporting the families affected.
