Umicore donates 2,500 euros to Gutherzig e. V.
For the tenth consecutive year, Umicore employees in Hanau are donating the cents from their paychecks to a good cause. As part of this “Cents for Charity” campaign, employees voluntarily donate an amount ranging from one to 99 cents with each paycheck. As is tradition, Umicore matches the contributions collected over the course of twelve months. For the year 2022, this raised a total of 2,500 euros, which was donated to the Gutherzig Association in Bessenbach.
Gutherzig e. V. helps people who have found themselves in emergency situations through no fault of their own and supports them in restoring quality of life, self-confidence, self-motivation, and hope to their daily lives. It is a matter close to the association’s heart to be there for those who, for example, have fallen into existential difficulties due to the loss of a family member or face bureaucratic hurdles they cannot overcome on their own. In addition, the Gutherzig association uses the donations to fulfill long-cherished wishes for seriously ill children and adolescents.

Ralf Müller and Andreas Kinkal, members of the works council at Umicore AG & Co. KG, visited the Gutherzig association in Bessenheim to present the donation.
“We are impressed by what the association does for those affected and by the initiatives it sets in motion,” said Ralf Müller. “In a personal conversation, we learned how important it is for the association to receive outside support. We thank all the volunteers at Gutherzig e. V. for their work, which makes a vital contribution to providing rapid assistance to those affected in a very difficult situation.”
