Can you describe your role/position at Umicore?

Within the department Group Communications - Trade Shows, Exhibitions, Events & Signage I am mainly responsible for the project management of trade fairs. This includes the registration and organisation of our participation in trade fairs, congresses and conferences with administrative activities related to marketing.

What do you like about your job?

All the colleagues I met during and after my apprenticeship were very nice and helpful. They showed me that the company pays a lot of attention to the fact that employees feel comfortable at their workplace.

What do you like about working at Umicore?

I like having so many opportunities, a varied job, nice colleagues and very good social security.

Why did you want to work at Umicore?

During my apprenticeship, I worked in several departments at Umicore and always felt very comfortable. There are a lot of opportunities for further training and development.

What do you look forward to when you set off to work in the morning?

To new challenges and to my colleagues.

What has been the highlight of your time at Umicore so far?

The highlight so far was definitely my work experience abroad in Sweden during my apprenticeship. I was allowed to work for two weeks at our Umicore site in Karlskoga, getting to know new colleagues and a new country. I am very happy that I got this unique opportunity and also used it.

Any advice for newcomers?

New colleagues can look forward to a great company. If you are open, interested and committed, all doors are open.
