Bachelor in Economic Informatics - Application Management (B.Sc.)

Contents and process

The plants used in the chemical industry are characterised by complexity and versatile application possibilities. As an economic informatics specialist, you optimise the existing processes using applications and assume the responsibility for IT tasks and projects for process optimisation. During your time at the company, you will be assigned to various projects in which you can prove your collective knowledge and skill. Both the practice phase and theory phase offer an extensive range of topics that you will examine. Whether in economics, informatics or process optimisation – you will find the topic that is right for you and develop your potential.

During your training, for example, you will learn about the following:

  • Programming company-specific software
  • Handling and juggling complex data volumes
  • Planning, steering and concluding projects independently
  • Observing quality assurance, occupational safety and environmental protection

Training takes place in a three-month changeover between practice phases at the Rheinfelden location and the Duale Hochschule Baden Württemberg (Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University). During the practice phases, you work in the Technology Department in the Operational Excellence team. Here, you solve operational problems and document these solutions in written practice papers.

In the theoretical phase, you will learn the special economic informatics study contents in addition to the basics of business administration, economic mathematics, data processing, accounting and English. In the first two years of study, you will complete a project during each practice phase. In the third year of study, you will take two in-depth subjects and use them during the practice phase.

School leaving certificate

You have the subject-related certificate of aptitude for higher education or the general certificate of aptitude for higher education (your country's equivalent to Germany's Abitur, e.g., A-levels).
